If your boiler has stopped working, lost pressure, is leaking or is showing a fault code, a 0800 Homefix engineer can usually diagnose and fix it the same day. Every repair is carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer, with no call-out fee and the price agreed before any further work. We repair all major brands across London and the South East, and back our labour for 12 months, with parts covered under the manufacturer’s warranty.

About Us
Most boiler repairs across London are attended the same day. For a genuine emergency (no heating in winter, a leak or a suspected gas fault), we aim to have a Gas Safe engineer with you within the hour, subject to availability. For non-urgent faults we book at the earliest slot that suits you, usually within a day or two.
If you can smell gas, leave the property, do not touch electrical switches, and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 before calling us.
Faults
Our engineers carry the parts for the faults that come up most often in London homes, so the majority of repairs are completed on the first visit rather than needing a return trip.
repair
We repair all major boiler brands, including Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Baxi, Ideal, Glow-worm, Potterton, Viessmann and Ferroli, across combi, system and conventional models. Whether your boiler is a modern condensing combi or an older conventional system, our engineers carry the diagnostic equipment and common parts to repair it properly.
If a repair isn’t the sensible option, because the boiler is beyond economic repair or parts are no longer available, we’ll tell you plainly and talk you through a boiler installation rather than charging you for a fix that won’t last.
Rates
Boiler repair is charged from the first hour of labour, agreed and confirmed before the engineer starts, with no call-out fee added. The first hour covers the engineer’s attendance, diagnosis, and the repair itself where it can be completed in that time. If the fault needs additional parts or further labour, you’re given a fixed quote on site and nothing goes ahead until you approve it.
Full pricing, including the hourly rate and any out-of-hours uplift, is published on our rates page.
PROCESS
01
Tell us what the boiler is doing, including any noises or fault code on the display, and whether you have heating or hot water. This helps the engineer arrive with the right parts.
02
A Gas Safe engineer attends, usually the same day, and diagnoses the fault properly rather than guessing. You’re told what’s wrong in plain language.
03
If the repair goes beyond the first hour or needs parts, you get a fixed price on site and approve it before anything proceeds. No work starts without your agreement.
04
The engineer completes the repair, tests the boiler is running safely and correctly, and leaves your property clean and tidy.
05
The work is backed for 12 months on labour, and you receive written confirmation before the engineer leaves.
why us
Every engineer is Gas Safe registered, NVQ qualified, DBS checked, and carries full ID you can inspect before any work begins. Most repairs are completed on the first visit because our vans carry the common parts for the faults we see most across London. There’s no call-out fee, your price is agreed before work starts rather than after the engineer is at your door, and every repair carries a 12-month guarantee on our labour, with parts covered under the manufacturer’s warranty.
The people behind the service
When you call 0800 Homefix, a real named engineer attends your property. Every person on our London team is Gas Safe registered, NVQ qualified, DBS checked, and carries full ID. Here are some of the engineers who may attend your job.
8+ years’ experience · North, East & West London
With over 8 years of experience servicing North, East and West London, I specialise in locating hidden leaks quickly and accurately using non-invasive detection methods. As a fully Gas Safe Registered engineer with NVQ Level 3 qualifications, I focus on delivering reliable, professional solutions that minimise disruption and help customers avoid unnecessary damage and repair costs.
“I regularly find hidden leaks without removing tiles or floors—most customers are surprised how quickly we can locate the issue without damage.”
13+ years’ experience – London
I specialise in boiler breakdowns and central heating systems. I enjoy solving complex faults and making sure systems are running safely and efficiently again, first time.
“In London properties, the most damaging leaks are the ones you can’t see. By the time a damp patch appears on a ceiling, the structural damage can already be significant. Finding it early – without demolition – is what this job is about.”
28+ years’ experience – London
“On an urgent call, the first thing I do is help the homeowner find and shut off the stopcock while I’m on my way. That one step stops the damage spreading and saves serious money. It only takes 10 minutes on the phone.”
What to expect
Every engineer arrives with a fully stocked van, carries Gas Safe ID you can inspect, and introduces themselves by name before entering your property. They explain what they have found and what the fix involves before starting any work – and they leave your property clean and tidy when they are done.
All engineers carry Gas Safe ID and are DBS checked. You can verify any engineer’s Gas Safe registration independently at gassaferegister.co.uk before work begins.

FAQ
Some questions homeowners, landlords and tenants typically ask before booking one of our plumbers in London.
Check the basics first: that the boiler has power, the gas supply is on, the pressure gauge reads between roughly 1 and 1.5 bar when cold, and the thermostat is calling for heat. If there’s a fault code on the display, note it down. If none of that resolves it, call us and a Gas Safe engineer can diagnose it, usually the same day. If you smell gas, leave the property and call 0800 111 999 first.
Repair is charged from the first hour of labour, confirmed before we start, with no call-out fee. Any further parts or labour are quoted on site and agreed before work goes ahead. Full rates are on our rates page.
It depends on your policy. Standard buildings and contents insurance usually doesn’t cover boiler breakdown, but a boiler or home emergency cover add-on may. We can carry out the repair and provide written documentation of the fault and work done, which you can pass to your insurer.
Yes. We repair all major brands including Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Baxi, Ideal, Glow-worm and Potterton, across combi, system and conventional boilers.
If your boiler is over 10 to 15 years old, breaking down repeatedly, or parts are no longer available, replacement is often the more cost-effective choice. Our engineer will give you an honest view on site rather than selling you a repair that won’t hold.
In most cases, yes. Same-day repair is standard subject to availability, and for genuine emergencies we aim to attend within the hour.
